Once the Battleship the Oblivion was retired, Ritsuko was out of a job. She had always kept the ship in tip top condition, her speed in repairs were legendary, especially considering how large the ship was. The ship became like a friend to her and once retired, she was sad and only a new, real challenge would bring her out of it.
She had learned about spots being open on a new ship, The Salvation. And immediately applied for the job. She was 6 hours early for her interview, and her resume was more than good enough to fill in the slot. Morgana was initially quite pleased with her new mechanic.

That was until there was down time, and Ritsuko got hyperactive...
