A a secret Jovian installation a complex AI development project known as "Lucy" created two android types, Ceres and Lazarus. While the Lazarus model was designed to interact with civilization and learn as much as it could, the Ceres model was run through several complex simulations that gave it a greater understanding of the universe. Eventually, Ceres was a sort of pseudo god and a force to be feared with, although hidden from civilization.
