Great job handling the shifting blend between human and fish. To me, this is the ideal form for the merfolk. It may not be as aesthetically pleasing as the human-with-fish-tail-for-legs trend, but it's more faithful to life. Heck, it's akin to Lovecraft's depiction of merfolk and its ancestors (e.g. Dagon).
