Thanks to the power of computers and the internet, these days, there are more tools then ever for catching simple things like this.
As for actually doing the process manually, I've had a limited amount of experience when publishing a micro story. Must have re-read that whole thing a thousand times. Clipping off a letter or a word here. Changing a word there. Finding tiny error after error, no matter how many times I went through it. If one isn't one thousand percent on the ball, the strangest little things just slip by. Nobody's fault, really. Just how the mind gets fooled in some very odd ways.
One way for duplicate words to occur is when the sentence wraps around to the next line in a word program. Though, they can also creep in via other means...like editing without a re-read.

I've been following this story since chapter 1 and I must admire you and the writer for doing an amazing job at captivating atmosphere :D

I am curious about one thing though:
what ever happened to that Dino prince boy? He was sort of forgotten after Chapter two started. Hope he wasn't caught by that crazy tentacle guy o.O!
