On 3 October (which has already dawned around here) Germany celebrates it's national day, the Day of German Unity.
It celebrates the German reunification, which was formally completed on this date in 1990.
For this year, I wanted to draw a fun little picture of the Bundesadler (German for "Federal Eagle"), the animal displayed on the coat of arms of Germany. It actually dates back several centuries, all the way to the Holy Roman Empire, during the 13th and 14th centuries.
I felt like having fun with him and drew him all super buff, just for the heck of it. ;3
Because Germany can be proud of its accomplishments and has all right to celebrate this day. We overcame hate, xenophobia and division. Today Germany is a place that values freedom, peace and acceptance of others - no matter how some right wing idiots try to sabotage that.
Happy "Tag der Deutschen Einheit" everyone! ;D

Germany's history is actually a really nice one, pretty interesting. But I can't stand that Hitler thing anymore, I heard it up and down in history class, it was a torture . I would have rather heard more about the antiquity, I loved that part so much
By the way: Schönen Tag der Deutschen Einheit aus Österreich, prost
