Sometimes crocodiles eat quite a lot, especially in areas or situations where food may be in shortage soon. Nile Crocodiles in East Africa, for instance, often eat large meals in the rainy season in anticipation of the forthcoming dry season. Tarvash is large enough that such considerations of survival do not necessarily apply, but old biological habits die hard and it is rather tempting to have a large, delicious meal worthy of any carnivore.
