I get it pretty much on a daily basis, it's been almost two years now and it hasn't stopped. I've had some pretty hurtful things said to me both online and in person. Most commonly I'm "a telephone rip off", even though I spoke to them in person about me and they said they liked me.
shame. i've seen characters that looked a lot like me but luckily none of them have been famous enough to get me yelled at. i'm sure you've already considered changing or slightly modifying your character to avoid these kind of responses, though you shouldn't have to. funny how possessive people get about things that aren't even theirs to get possessive of in the first place.
