A character inspired by the Lovecraft story "Dreams in the Witch House."

Miskatonic is secretary and "guard dog" to a certain mad scientist, one doctor Masako Carter. Miskatonic is very organised and will be the first person you speak to, if you want to contact the doctor, as she deals with all the phone calls, post, emails and etc. Please do not disturb the filing systems; Miskatonic will likely be upset if you do that.

She has a liking for challenging tasks, as she enjoys problem solving and the pressure of having to be skillful- whether those skills involve people skills or something more analytical. She has a fondness for mathematical problems in particular and an interest in geometry. When she has free time, she can often be seen printing maths work sheets and solving them. She also likes collecting what she calls "geometrically perfect objects." A well made prism will make a nice gift for her for this reason. Has a preference for minimalist and elegant design in her daily life items; even her toothbrush holder has a geometric design.

She will more than likely be the first person you encounter, if you visit the doctor's laboratory. If you've been invited, Miskatonic will politely greet you and offer you a hot drink, served from her special kettle and tea set (yes, they're geometric too.) She'll be happy to tell you more about the doctor's work and if suitably prompted, Miskatonic may even tell you a bit about herself and how she came to be a "monster." Or she'll converse with you about more commonplace subjects, such as the weather or your weekend, should you wish to talk about that.
If you don't have permission to visit, but are non-aggressive, she'll insist you leave. She might respond to a few questions with vague answers, but her tone will become more urgent.

She only becomes aggressive with people who are violent towards her or destructive towards the equipment/work in the lab. If you do force her to this sort of reaction however, you shouldn't worry about her too much. Her goal is only to incapacitate you in such fights, until the doctor returns. And if you're still there when the doctor arrives, Miskatonic is really the least of your worries.
