House Blarelarbre
Sigil: Quarterly first and fourth azure three badgers rampant or; second and third quarters argent an oak tree or
Species: Eurasian Badger
Location: Swithcester, Miercinia
The Blarelarbre are a much older family than the Forresters. The Blarelarbre rule from their fortress of Swithcester which is built into the side of Mont Meles. The outer walls and structures pale in comparison to the tunnels running through Mont Meles, mainly because Swithcester protects one of the largest iron ore mines on Insula Viridis.
The Blarelarbre are fairly secretive, but they have been known to share some of their family history with the curious. Unfortunately, one of the many legends concerning who the found was has sense been lost to the outside world. There are two things we do know. First is that it does have something to do with a forest as the name is a combination of two Liberian words; blarel, the word for badger, and arbre, the word for tree. And second, it is possible that the house name is directly derived from that of it's founder or something the founder did.
The Blarelarbre have had shaky relations with their neighbors. They typically distrust all species they consider to be vermin, namely foxes, wolves, felines, raptors, weasels and weasel-like mustelids, as well as rats, though others are added to this continually growing list. They have been known to make exceptions to their rules. This is traditionally done through taking of hostages to be squires and courtiers.
Iudicael, Aldric, Armel, Arthur, Leroy, and Mael are the most common names gives to boars, while sows are typically named Raine, Rain, Lorraine, Reine, and Sarah.
Notable members:
King Mainforte Blairarbre, who ruled Miercinia for twenty years until his death. King Artur Blairarbre, who began the wars that would eventually lead to the formation of Villamium, which united nearly all of the Insula Viridis into one nation. King Brochtrewan Blairarbre, the First King of Villamium, who completed his father's conquest of Insula Viridis.
