I've been a guard at a few places. Most recent was at the entrance road to a coal mines. Worked the Midnight to 8am shift. It was relaxing for the most part. Spent a lot of time playing solitaire or reading. Before that I was a guard a junk yard, mostly there to keep drugheads from breaking in to steal copper. It was there I learned not to read Stephen King books on a windy night. Was reading a chapter where a skeletal zombie was breaking through a window after someone JUST when something fell outside in the yard. I was like O.O for half an hour after that.
Heh, dunno how sexy it was but it was a job. Had a nice looking uniform and.. an old worn out baseball bat. If someone had been serious about stealing and they were armed, most I could do was lock myself in the office and dial 911. These days I work in the accounting office at a Walmart Neighborhood Market. Bascially Walmart's version of a grocery store. Still get to keep to myself most of the day since they don't want lots of folks around the money. Its a fun job, no two days are the same. And, I'll stop babbling now xD
Babbling aint so bad. Its nice to see somebody on FA that isn't just about fetish talk and what not. I work for a company like Walmart. I hate retail I want a job outside that isnt manual labor heh. I cant believe they armed you with a baseball bat. I'd almost rather have mace or something.
Yeah, the security company was cheap. Probably couldn't afford the licensing to allow officers to carry weapons plus the insurance policies. After all, if you shoot someone in self-defense these days and the guy survives, he's likely to sue you... and win. American justice system at work.
As for hating working in retail, I wouldn't care for it much either if I were out on the sales floor every day, having to deal with people while trying to stock shelves or whatnot. Maybe you should see if there's an opening in your store's accounting office. The job is a bit daunting at first... there's a lot to learn and they only gave me a few days of training before throwing me in there. But once you get the hang of it, its fun. Just got to think of the money as numbers, not as actual money. Have to get the numbers to match what it shows on the reports.
And as for babbling (there I went again >.<) I can be bad about it when I wanna get to know someone, specially when their fursona is attractive. And I have to say, if I met a country wolf like you I'd be all tongue tied while trying to babble and give a hug at the same time ^^;

Man dont get me started on the American justice system! Its a joke! I heard about this one guy that was trying to break into a woman's house and fell through a skylight, hurt himself and sued her.
I dont do well with numbers and work much better with my hands I like to get to know people too and im really quite approachable: )
Just dont get too tongue tied. My wolf is based off me and I'm country at heart but I was born in Detroit. My dad's family is all down south though and i visit whenever i can and really feel most at home when I'm there. I love the warmth and peace and if it were more gay friendly I would have moved there years ago heh

I hear ya. I miss the spring back in West Virginia, but I miss the fall especially, when all the leaves were changing colors. The people... I don't miss them so much. Most of the ones near where I lived were meth-heads and welfare junkies. Literal trailer trash with nothing to live for other than to spit out another unwanted kid every year or so, just so they could keep the food stamps and WIC coming.
I like it much better here in Denver. Went to my first con last year and can't wait to go back.
As for Detroit... I've heard a lot of bad things about it. In fact... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ny4a-oxOndo

Yeah Detroit is pretty bad, which is why I am glad my parents got us out of there. They moved us to a one bar town called white lake 45 minutes south of that crap hole. I was three when we moved there so i tell people i am from White Lake when they ask.
Fall is by far my fave season! I love the crisp air, the colors, Haloween and cider mills!
I hear Co. is a beautiful state and I've known a few people from there though a little cold for my taste. I've never been to a con and hear they are a blast ^_^ I plan to go to one someday.

Not as cold here in Colorado as usual, according to my roommates. Its been cold this winter, sure, but only for a few days at a time. No 14 days of daytime highs in the single digits with seventeen inches of snow on the ground, thankfully.
Rocky Mountain Fur Meet (RMFC) is this August. If you happen to be out this way or you can make the trip, we could hang out and watch all the fursuiters go by ^.^ I wanna get a suit myself, someday. Don't see a lot of mice at cons, maybe its time to change that.

17 inches is a little much for me. I am from Michigan so I know how to deal with snow but that is a little bit much for my taste. Would be cool to hang out in RL with a fur friend but I am broke most of the time with bills and what not. You should get a suit, mice are really cute
