Hope you don't mind a little bit of criticism :O

The physics of the falling pillar in the background feels 'wrong' when it hits the ground. I think it's the lack of any sort of reaction from it when it slams into the ground (other than the cloud of dust).

Not sure what else they could add. Maybe a subtle screen shake to add weight to it but other then that, that's the only reactions a pillar falling into sand bed water will do.

Or just have it shudder. It's a bit of solid material, but it also has to be *extremely* heavy and dense to be falling that fast through the water. There'd be at least some reverberation through itself upon impact.

At that speed it's the bounce it's lacking.
There's a very very small bounce there already but for that speed it'd be greater if hitting solid ground. For soft ground it'd sink into it removing the bounce but not sure that's what they're going for. Essentially, either slow the impact down more through a gradual speed decrease through the water while sinking, or have it bounce more on impact.
