The third teaser video showed a jumping 'Mech. I squealed to myself when I saw that it looked a LOT like a certain 'Mech I should be drawing more.
The JR7-D Jenner.
I used this small clip as a basis for this, while adding my own touches as well as adding bits from the "older" model.
Jenner (C) Topps, Smith and Tinker, Pirahna Games.

...THE FURY!
Exactly what the internet was in when the vids went up. They look so awesome, although they're probably pre-dev so only have a basic impact on what the final deal look like. But it's definitely cool, and definitely MechWarrior. The fist vid clearly had Davion banners and a sign said 'Davion Hotel'

A better Heavy pilot, for sure! Good to know you're making progress! :D
When you beat the campaign, try to challenge yourself a few different ways. One way I like to do is to restrict how many lancemates you bring -- go in solo, even. Another I like to do is deliberately go in underweight. Missions that you once beat in heavies, you attempt again in medium 'Mechs, and so on. (in both cases, this saves on drop costs!)
Once you've figured out what weapons work best for you, you start to kill things easier, and you can actually afford to drop 20 tons as if nothing happened.

Yep. I've found that I preffer Laser weapons to everything else, but I have yet to give the more powerful artillery (AC20s and Clan Style Yellow Armaments) a true shot, yet.
Not done with Campaign mode, but I just knocked off several Heavy threat levels rather quickly.
My one embarrasment was that my Awesome was taken down by a medium laser fired by a patrol boat...
That was the lamest thing I've ever seen...

Ouch!
Lasers are good weapons. I will say though that those heavy class ballistic weapons such as the LB-X AC/10 and 20 pack a serious punch. The Ultra AC/20 is even nastier (and heavier). Gauss rifles are an excellent range weapon with heavy punch of its own.
Last, Streak MRMs and Streak SRMs do a great deal of damage as well in large banks (such as a 'Mech carrying about 24 SSRMs or 80 SMRMs). Make sure to stock up on ammo for these missile weapons because one ton will barely last. Clan LRMs are great at range (and even lighter than SMRMs) but don't deliver as much knock as SMRMs or SSRMs.

I was very impressed with the mini-guass!
Ran out of ammo because it was my first attempt, but, when paired with three large lasers, that is an ultimate attack!
Believe it or not, I won a campaign stage with no weapons.
I stood behind a hill and had my teammates take out the enemy that was closest to me.
You've got to choose a side!?! WTH... I liked picking my own missions, thank you...

If you like the beam weapons, there are some ballistic weapons that basically do the same as some lasers. A Light Gauss is essentially a Clan PPC, but instead of additional ehat, it weighs more. Machine Guns can equal Pulse Lasers, and using the two together in pairs can be very effective.
What he says about adjusting difficulty is right. I recently beat the game with an Uziel (50 ton IS) on every mission but the urban ones (used a Tenchi, 65 ton IS, a heavy mech but it pilots like a fat medium). Of course I use mediums in online play anyway, it just fits my playstyle better.
