Ok, first, you're still on the cute wagon if you made this. And second, I think my favourite part here is the ears, they look as soft as my dog's ears. They're convincingly realistic.

I really like the way the eyes came out. I also like the colours in this one, their softness gives this a traditional feel, which is a plus for me.

Thanks! The more I look at it, the more I think I made the eyes just a tad too big, which is sending it down the cute road a bit more than the realistic road though. I do hope to get a more traditional feel with these more serious paintings.

If you want to get away from "cute" I'd also suggest making the eyes less rounded at the top.

Thats a good idea. It's amazing how just a little change on the eyes can influence the whole feeling of an animal.
