just a quick study I did. I have kind of a certain look in mind for my upcoming Patreon Halloween pics, i want them to look a bit like old monster movies. So i used one of my older doodles to try it out and made notes so I can recreate the look.

that's kind of what the "texture layer" is. I made a texture to try and replicate the look of old film, it im sure its a mix of a noise filter along with a bunch of hand painted stuff

You might also want to desaturate juuuust a bit. In those old films black was rarely black, always coming across as a dark grey.
