As we hit our stretch goal and beyond for Rocky's surgery fundraiser, we got Rocky a few new toys to help keep him occupied so he doesn't mess with his bandages. We also got him some pet stairs to go up into the bed with when we're cleared to give Rocky a little more freedom to move around; at the moment, we have to lift him up there. It's just so important to keep him still for the first two weeks so his body can form cartilage around the implant and eventually new bone growth.
The swelling in his leg and the bruising is finally going away. We can only hope that Rocky still understands that he's not 100% and doesn't try to go too fast. When we see the vet in another 2 weeks from Wednesday, we'll know if we can let him roam around the house a little more without risking messing up the implant.
It's only day 5 of the first week, but it feels like we've been doing this for a month, heh.
