Good morning today. Rocky took his meds without spitting them out once, ate a regular breakfast, and did all his business like it was a regular day. All it takes is a little towel to keep him from chewing on his stitches/staples. It makes him look like a little old grannie.
Our fundraiser is officially full! We don't feel right, not with all the other crises in the world, asking for any more than we've already gotten. Rocky will be taken care of, These first couple of weeks are going to be the most important. After he gets his stitches out and we don't have to worry about him licking the incision site, we might build him a ramp to get up into the bed in his room so he can look outside. For now though, he's staying put in his crate until we get the OK to start gradually increasing his activity level.
In other news, Rocky and the cats have gotten more exposure than they've ever had with one another. The most he's ever done is give a half-hearted 'wuurf' to tell Nemo to leave him alone when we decided to let him in to see Rocky. He laid down right beside the crate with him until Rocky finally had enough and told him to go away. He wasn't even forceful about it. We've gotta use this time to get him as used to the cats as possible and know that they're not a big deal so when he's allowed to roam around the house unsupervised, he may ignore the cats entirely.
