SAVE ROCKY'S LEG DAY FUNDRAISER GOAL REACHED
At least the goal that I set to resurrect Sketch Club as a huge community thank-you for helping us pay Rocky's $4616 surgery bill. We can focus that much more, because of you and your big hearts, on making sure Rocky makes a full, complete recovery.
Today was a bit rough. It was our first full day taking care of him, watching him like a hawk to see if he's chewing at his incisions or stitches. Infection is his biggest enemy right now, and we have to watch intensely for any signs of further complications. He DID eat a full meal today, which is huge.
And to thank you for your generosity, Sketch Club will return in October for 2 months! I -was- going to start it as early as tomorrow but then I realized how hard it would be to set aside 3 hours when Rocky needs so much monitoring. He needs to be kept comfortable and resting, not excited or trying to do things he DEFINITELY shouldn't for the first 2 weeks. After the 2 week mark, his stitches should be fully healed, so we can start to relax on watching him.
A nicer, big ol' thankyou image is coming soon. Working on artwork right now is just -really- tough at the moment. I'll try my best to keep going though, and finish off my commissions this month if I can while watching over our poor wounded boy like a helicopter nanny.
The youcaring site is still up and all other donations should be done through there, as the 'stretch' goal is $2500, but I set my goal here for reviving Sketch Club at $2000.
As always, if you can't help, please share the youcaring site! We've almost reached our goal!

we thank you and Rocky thanks you. It's only day 2 of his recovery, but the fact he was able to poop like normal means his body is still working as it's supposed to. I cannot describe the relief I felt knowing that as long as we can keep him from licking at the incision site, he'll make a full recovery, cause the first 48 hours after surgery are always the most perilous. Thankfully, he knows that he's hurt. He's not trying to jump and skip about. Long as he keeps going like this, by the time December rolls around, he'll be back to running full tilt.
That is a blessing. At least he's smart enough to know he needs to be careful. My fiancé's dog sadly is about as intelligent as a box of rocks with marbles in it. Rather then let us trim her nails. She'd rather chew them till they get infected. Or she's terrified of the water drum on gravity feeders and will let her self get dehydrated. Where my cat just swats at the water reservoir.
Ah well. I always said my my lady has a thing for dumb animals. S'why she chose me
