They walked to Matthew's room and Matthew sat down on the bed and looked up at her. "I've got more than just personality disorder, Kari." he said, looking her in the eyes. "These pther people in my head are just the worst of it."
"Ouch." Brian said as Matthew's shadow laid on the carpet floor.
Kari still looked at him, "Then how many people are inside you, Exactly?"
"Well, some of them say four, but I'm sure there's just three." Matthew said, and then he pointed to the carpet "That's Brian."
Kari looked but only saw their shadows.
"And that one, hugging your reflection has been named Lass." Matthew said, pointing to the window now.
Kari looked by only saw their reflections in it. "Hold on, You're not making any sense. You can't perfectly see or hear you other personalities." She said, looking at him "That's not how it works."
"That would be where our schizophrenia kicks in." Brian said, but he was not making Matthew stand up straight. "Apparently, his hallucinations allow him to visualize us."
"Us?" Kari paused and then stepped closer. "Is this, Lass right now?"
"No Miss, I'm Brian." he said "Matthew would tell her I'm smarter than him, but that's not really possible."
Kari paused again, looking at him funny "Okay.. Brian... You and Lass think there's another person in Matthew's mind?"
Brian shrugged "I would give you a definite nod, but that's changed of recent." He broke eye contact and started to think outloud, "I use to think he was just a hallucination that would drive Matthew to kill. We'd call it The First, because he was apparently there before Lass and I showed up."
"So The First other personality Matthew got?" Kari asked "Do you know what it wants?"
"Huh?" Matthew looked at her "What who-"
"She was asking about The First, what it may want." Brian said
"Good luck answerin' that one, lad." Lass added
"Matthew? Are you back?" Kari said, taking a look at his ears, "You're ears are down like usual. so I assumed."
"I make them stand up?" Brian said from the floor "What a curious fact, how did I miss that?" The he looked over at the window
"Don look at me." Lass said "I'm jus a.. oh.."
Matthew just sighed and tried to keep them from distracting him.
"Well, we were just talking about The First." Kari said "Any idea what it might want?"
"I don't know, I'm not it." Matthew said "It just use to stalk me and possess me to kill people."
"Possess, like a spirit?" Kari then looked at him suspiciously "How are you sure that it's just another personality? Maybe you just see him like you see Lass and Brian?"
"How do I know you're real?" Matthew looked at her "It's no less real to me than you are."
"We don't even know of she's real." Brian reminded him.
"This monster is real." Matthew continued "It's mad at me just for donig this, and it attacked me before I turned down Jake's offer this night."
Kari just stared him down after hearing that, but then she just sighed "At least we got somewhere this time. It's late, we're tired, Let's just get some rest."
"Yeah, that'd be for the best." Matthew sighed
"G'night, lass!" Lass sang into control, and waved kari farewell for the night.

The next morning Matthew was woken up by knocking on the door rather than another nightmare. He answered it and left the dorms with Kari for their classes.
"So, you think we could talk with Jake this time?" Kari asked as they walked
"I guess." Matthew said, looking down at the sidewalk. "I just don't want The First to show up and kill you all."
"I won't let that happen?" Kari said smiling.
Matthew stopped then looked up at her"How do you know?"
"It's just what I am." Kari smiled "And I've faced things tougher than a someone in a magical fox disguise."
"I'm not too sure though.." Matthew said, and then his attention was drawn to someone standing just down the path.
It was there, staring at them. It's head turned a bit to face Matthew.
Before he could shout, Lass grabbed Kari and went around her "Hey, ya wanna see somethin'?" And the she started to push her from The First.
"Lass? is that you?" Kari looked at Matthew, trying to stay in place. "What are you doing?"
"Not pushin' hard enough, apparently." Lass said and pushed harder "Now, I wanna show ye something."
"We share a mind, Lass" Brian said "Why would you wanna show her that?"
"Come on, Ye gotta see this." Lass said, but thought to Brian "Wouldn't it make sense for her ta know what she's up aganst?"
Brian pasued then ran to catch up with what cast his shadow "You got a fair point."
"What are you going to show me?" Kari asked
"Ya know how we fought two orcs and a behemoth?" Lass said "Wanna see where?"
