You tell yourself a lot you're the tough Irish kid. You were raised tough, nothing can beat you down. You've got that fighting spirit in you, you'll outlast this fight. You fight back a lot of stuff and act invincible. But even Achilles wasn't invincible. You alienate yourself from people you cared about and have no choice but to feel guilty about it even though you don't know how or why it happened, and if it needed to happen. You tried to fight that, but even then, you're still not invincible. Eventually all the greats got knocked out, Mike Tyson to Buster Douglas. Muhammad Ali to Joe Fraizer. You're no better than them. Sometimes you have to get knocked down and take that loss. Sometimes you just have to finally break down. You just get tired of fighting for a while.
