I now despise painting water.
Watercolor commission for

I'm actually not incredibly happy with how this came out, but that is only because I have found out because of this that I hate painting water (Ialready knew I hated painting clouds). It came out quite a bit worse than I hoped it would, but whatever. It still looks pretty good I guess.
This is kinda just a quick picture I took. Doing so kinda messed up the colors a little, too. so when I get the chance I'll take a better picture and swap it with this one.
Done using micron pens (one of mine dried out as I was starting inking. Thankfully, I had others), sharpie, ball-point pen (which I found I now like a lot for inking :3 ), watercolors, and some prisma colored pencils
EDIT: gah! I just noticed I failed to finish coloring a small part in the picture >_< I'll fix it later.

Yep, I was RIGHT; you totally have a knack for facial expressions; this merely PROVES it! ;3
As for the water, I think it looks pretty good; you have the the rippling light effect around the leg and everything! =D

Actually, the water looks a lot like our bayous around here when the vegetation is active - especially near docks and narrows
The background frames the figure very nicely with the subdued light - very much in the Whistler and Albert Pinkham Ryder moods, sallow and slightly decadent.
The mink really stands out - nice firm lines and statuesque, but slightly listing with that coy look, giving off that 'House of Usher' noble yet unbalanced vibe.
