"I took them my archive, a room full of books on everything. People, events, places, and anything possible and not. It was all on just one shelf, and the books all had no title at the moment. There were still some chairs and two tables to sit and read at, and there was a TV for just when I wanted to just watch cartoons. The two followed me in and looked around. Sonne mostly stayed by me while keeping an eye on her tail, she must have been thinking the worst of it. Adriana ventured out more, she stayed by the door, but she at least looked around at everything in the simple living room.
"I think we can find what you wanna about yourselves in here." I told them and looked over the shelves.
"From books?" The middle Adriana said as she looked at the shelf "Has there been people like us before?"
"Not a bad guess, but the closest was a feral cerberus, not a taur, or anthro for that matter." I said and looked over the shelves "Your book should be here somewhere."
"Your book?" Adriana on the right said "You mean, like, documents from that lab?"
"Yes, but not from them." I said and reared up onto the shelves "God knows you much better, from your body, to your identity."
"What God would let us become things like this?" Sonne asked, still looking down at her hooves.
"The Lord has done so for a reason." I said "Anything good and bad he uses to make things better."
"No, hold on." Adriana's right self said "If, God does exist, then how is it you can look at this stuff god has?"
"You don't exactly look like an angel." The middle one added
"It's complicated." I said and pulled out a book, as I held it, a titled started to form in dry ink Adriana Gabor "To make it easy, I could call it magic for you."
"Magic" the left one said "But that's against what God's about."
"It's just what I call it." I said, then I pulled out another book Sonne Alder "Would you rather have a lecture trying to explain it?"
"Yes!" They shouted in sync.
"Nah, You could probably read on it." I smiled smuggly, and the looked over at Sonne
She had stopped moping and started looking over the books She even pulled one down, but it had nothing on the pages. "How do blank pages help teach us? Do we write in them?"
"There's nothing in these?" The middle one said, and they ran to the shelves and all started looking at them
"They're all empty!" The middle one said
"Are they?" I said and handed Adriana handed her her book "From the same shelf you pulled it from
The middle one took it and them made them back up
The right one took it and opened the book "There's words in here, and I can read it too!"
"What's going on?" The middle one said "How is everything understandable here?"
"Magic." I smiled to her
"Stop that," the left one shouted "And start making sense!"
I just giggled it off, to let her cool down, I still held Sonne's book.
"So here, I can read about anything?" She asked as she looked at the shelves "As long as you give it to me?
"On no." I said and stopped leaning on the shelf "There's a trick to these books."
"How does it work?" She asked
"Just think of a book you want to have, then imagine it on the shelves."
"Do I need to close my eyes?"
I shook my head, "Just imagine, then grab the book off the shelf"
She slowly raised her hand, and then grabbed the spine of a book. she tugged it a little loose then grabbed the sides of the book and pulled it out. Once it was off the shelf, dry ink appeared on the cover, creating the title Inkheart. She smiled as she looked at it, and then looked to me.
"Anything you want to read about is here." I said to her, and held up her book "Even you." I gave it to her then looked to Adriana.
They were huffing mad still, and the left one just glared at me.
"What are you?" The left one asked "How is any of this stuff possible?"
"Why are you helping us if you got everything?" The middle one then asked
I wanted to give her an answer, and then something else occured to me "You're smart, Adriana." I said and walked to the door "Just grab a room you find comfy, there should be some clothes in there that will fit."
Adriana looked to Sonne, who was deeply invested witht he context of her books. "Sonne?"
She looked up at the three
"Do you think Adept is a bit odd?" the right Adriana asked
Sonne just shrugged to her "I mean, she can do some strange things, but she is really nice."
"What if she's too nice though?" The middle one said"
