A common color combination indeed, something I might change eventually, but I don't feel a need to as I think the colors as they are now serve the purpose they need to for the character concept I was going for. Btw, thanks again so much for this, you did really great!!

I think the "black + red = cliché" is more of a human-character thing. Honestly, I can't name a color combination that is annoyingly common among anthromorphic characters and even then you have a ton of species around so nothing really appears to be seen too often. I wouldn't bother with a change as long as you like the characters looks x) He cannot be confused with someone else which, I think, is the most important thing :)

Well, that gives me some reassurance at least because I purposefully looked over countless designs within this community and intentionally wanted to create something a bit different lol. Black and red seems to be somewhat common amongst dragon sonas, but not really for lizards sonas and it's what I wanted as it fits the character more imo. Thank you though for the comment, it helps with a bit of my insecurity on the issue heh. Of course I like the ref sheet though, I love it! You did your best here and it shows!

Even dragons have those colors more rarely nowadays. For lizards I can confirm I never saw anything like him before, so don't worry x)
