I have had the pleasure of working with many artists.
Short answer - my friend Laura Howell is the original artist. I write the scripts, do the lettering, and prepare for the web page.
Long answer -
My friend Laura Howell and I started the comic strip. I wrote the scripts. Laura illustrated them. Laura and I created the original character designs, model sheets, and background bios. Laura illustrated the first two stories. Even though she no longer illustrates the strip, she continues to help me with editing, reviews, and more. Laura now works professionally for the UK's biggest weekly comic book - The Beano. She also did work for the Angry Birds and Regular Show comic books.
Next, I teamed with Shelley Pleger. Shelley added her "Cats Don't Dance" style to the character design. Shelley also heavily influenced the modern look of the Wolfe family. Again, I wrote the scripts and Shelley illustrated them. Shelley illustrated one full story and started two other stories. She now works professionally doing inks for the newspaper syndicated comic strip, "Dick Tracy".
Jennifer Morton, a popular fan artist of Vicki, helped complete the "School Days" story after Shelley unexpectedly stopped work. She stayed on to do one full story, too.
Shelley came back and we agreed to try again. She started the "Summer Work" story, but unfortunately, she unexpectedly stopped again.
The unpredictable work schedule of Shelley and Jennifer led me to create the fan created series, "Minding the Gap". A lot of artists contributed work or were commissioned for art. Mary Bellamy and Scotty Arsenault were some of the fan favorites.
In 2013, I ran out of artwork and I couldn't find an artist to illustrate my stories, so I put the comic strip on hiatus.
Then, in 2016, Jan contacted me for permission to add Vicki to his vixen video game picture. I loved the result and how his style was a mix between Shelley's and Laura's. I casually asked if he would be interested in drawing Vicki ... and here we are.
Jan has been great to work with! He finished illustrating the "Summer Work" story. He is almost done with the next story. And, I look forward to working with him on the big epic story next year.
