So I did a little digging, finding out that whales/dolphins came from four legged carnivores waaaay back, I did a little looking around and finally decided to base him off his ancestors (Mesonyx I think), a little lion and modern Orcas!

I adore orcas, marine life and the sea, and lions of course...so obviously my brain wanted it all to come together and well, here's the fella!
His name is Tambo, meaning Vigorous in Swahili!

Tambo might be large, look intimidating with all those sharp teeth, but he's primarily on a diet of delicious fishies! He'll grab a seal or two when in the water, but doesn't mind human/anthro food leftovers. He'll often pad along the beach and eat things he finds. He doesn't have a blowhole, instead still breathes through his nose and mouth, but can hold his breath for a long, long time. Noones actually timed his underwater escapades.
He lives in a cave only accessible by water, its a cave lit up by strange crystals. You either have to swim far to get into his cave or just shout at him and hope he comes outside. He loves to explore inland, and often gets caught hiding out in people's pools, both big and paddling pools.
Size wise, he's about the size of an orca, if not a little smaller and thinner, like a lion or wolf.
Tambo loves cuddles and snuggles, being very affectionate, but very large, he often sends people onto thier butts by crushing them accidentally with love!
The two piercings on his fin are a type of 'tag' so he can be tracked, there's a chip in each loop that helps scientists find him. Being a strange lab experiment, spliced with ancient dna of whale ancestors and a lion, maybe a hint of wolf in there somewhere. He doesn't like his creators, so will often give them a good smack with his tailfin and be quite aggressive, biting and using his retractable claws to fight them off.
He LOVES music, so if there's a radio nearby, he will often be found doing what he calls 'dancing' aka, swinging his butt around and stamping his paws. He'll dance to pretty much anything, but play celtic (Irish/Scottish Traditional) he'll calm down and just relax, but if its a jig? Watch out, he gets very excitable and will dance his massive butt off!
He is infatuated with
, who often comes and visits him to feed him tasty fishies and veggies, or even sharing his dinner! He will get jealous if others are with Tumaini, can be slightly protective and possessive, but still, he's a good boy. :)
Loves bellyrubs, tickles behind the ear and his snout being stroked slowly as he relaxes.
As for texture? His fur is very short, kind of like lion fur but a touch shorter, apart from his mane, which is huge and fluffy but rough!

I may shuffle my sona's around and make a little room for him, i've always wanted something to do with Killer Whales/Orcas for soooo long, its a little known fact my boyfriend and I love dolphins, orcas, sharks, pretty much...we love marine life as well as every animal ever. XD
