The next day, they lead soldiers to the closest town they were most recently run out from. On entrance, the streets were covered in whispers and flooded with a whispering breeze. The streets buildings were tan and dry, all of them could only be told apart by having wooden doors or no glass windows.
"Alright, basic procedures." Firefight said "They're gonna search building by building for anyone or anything. We're going to make sure this happens smoothly."
"So you want us to go with them to the buildings?" Lacetor said and pulled up his shot gun.
"Not all of us. There's some that will be staying out of the search." Firefight said and turned to Lauren and Tremor "You two are to hang back, if anything goes wrong we'll contact you, and you all make your way in. Don't let us get boxed in, and don't let the APCs get hurt."
"Sir" The two nodded
"Sue, Shadow," He continued "You're the scouts, if you find anything suspicious the next few blocks away, report it.
"I'm going to shoot what I see move." Shadow said and started to walk off.
Sue watched her leave, but then looked back to Firefight, "Don't sweat it, I'll keep a close eye on her." and she was gone with a wind.
"Now, the rest of us keep watch over things with each team." He said, "Two to a team, Don't overlook anything."
They all nodded, and then split up when the teams were made.

Circuit and Lacetor went with a group for buildings on on the right, and Circuit immediately pulled a solider from the front door. "I don't sense anything." She said through the comes "Something's off."
Lacetor looked to the team, "Stay behind her, I'm heading around back for anything." cocked his shotgun "ready when you are."
Circuit didn't wait after he said that, she ran and kicked down the door, and Lacetor ran for the back. Circuit peered down her sights, but no one was in there. She carefully stepped in; anticipating for someone to peek from up the stairs or from around a corner, neither thing happened.
A loud boom was heard, and then Lacetor's voice was heard "Clear!"
The two searched around the building, and the top floors only had wooden furniture at first. but the main floor was filled with heavy barrels.
Lacetor walked up to one and pried it open. Inside was a liquid that was black and thick like paint, but it smelled worse than something died and is burning with car tires.
"Guys, this is Tessa Coils." She called over the mics "The last buildings we checked have no people inside, but there's drums on the main floor of the buildings."
"Lacetor here, I'm getting the same stuff." he added "They're full of petroleum, I think. Maybe oil."
"Were finding the stuff here too, team." Firefight entered the coms. "barrels upon barrels of this stuff"
"Why would they leave valuable resources behind?" Tessa asked.
"Let's meet outside and check on something." Firefight said "You gotta point out where you're finding all these buildings with barrels are." and then he left the building with Foresight. Soon Tessa came running to the group, and then Circuit, and then Lacetor. "Now point out where all these barrels are."
They pointed to almost all of the buildings were on the block. Practically, the main floor of all the buildings were filled with barrels of dark fluid.

"So, why would they just abandon all this?" Tessa asked again.
"All that oil could be worth millions." Lacetor added "Maybe they thought they could come back for it."
"They could have taken in while they were assaulting the base." Firefight thought out loud, then he turned to Circuit "Can you pick up working technology away from here?"
Circuit started to look around once asked
"She can detect technology too?" Foresight said "Then why didn't she know about the bombs on those terrorists back at base? or stopped the explosives?"
"She only senses the tech, she can't analyze it." Firefight said, "And she can't just tell a grenade to not explode after the pin is pulled."
Circuit turned away and watched some soldiers investigate another house, and once they all stepped in, she ran for the building.
"Circuit!" Lacetor shouted and ran after her.
She ran to the door and looked around closely; to the walls to the ceiling, to the floor. There was something by the door. A thin string that had snapped.
"Circuit, what is it?" Lacetor said and knelt down " He picked up the string for a better look
"Fifteen seconds after the soldiers entered a cell phone turned one a couple hundred yards from here." She said over the comes, "It couldn't have been a coincidence." She followed where the line went till it lead out a hole in the window. "Firefight, I believe they have had us in surveillance, there's string leading through holes by the door."
"You're saying it's linked to something?" Firefight replied
"Fifteen seconds after the door was broken down, a call came from the east of us." Circuit said "I'll come out to explain."
"I already know what's going to happen." Foresight said as Circuit, Lacetor, and the team of soldiers stepped out. "I'll go check it out."
"Wait here, Foresight." Firefight said and turned his comes on, "Sue, Shadow, there's some unknown communications going on east of here, you need to check it out."
"En route." Sue responded
And when Firefight looked back to Foresight, he saw she was already still walking "Foresight!" he shouted, and she stopped "You got to wait for the rest of your team!" She turned to face him as he growled.
Her face had wide eyes though, "Everyone, get away from the buildings!"
