Why would you give a poisonous snake a name like cottonmouth?
On the list of names to run away from really fast, that one ranks right next to cubbypuppy and common toe nibbler.

As someone who lives in an area with alot of cottonmouths, I can confirm this with 1 addition: they also do "I WILL KILL YOU!" before you feel a sharp pain and deadly venom being injected.

I mean, cottonmouths are REALLY passive snakes, even a copperhead will try to bite you more for stepping on it.

Realtalk, just don't like, block snakes from where they want to run to (which if they're coming for you, is behind you), because they're probably trying to escape from you and you'd be forcing them to fight

Or accidentially try and climb on a creek bank where one is resting. A kid got bit in the face a couple of weeks ago because he didnt see the cottonmouth resting on the bank he was about to climb up on.
