LOL, yeah. i recognized it since i used a rabbit pelt of similar color (white with those black spots) to make a toy for my cat. i used some real fur scraps from torn coats/etc. to make a fursuit head. its long lost, though. if you want to use more real fur for suits, try swinging by some estate sales, thrift stores or resale shops. its relatively easy to find mangled coats that still have a good amount of usable stuff on it. once i got a beaver coat for $20 by looking unimpressed (it had some paint on it that was easily picked off). the guy didn't know what he had: thought it was wolf of all things.
I think you misunderstand.
I'm a furry, I'm an animal lover, I raise my own animals to eat, I practice taxidermy, and this rabbit was bred and raised had a good life and skinned by a local guy whom I think is amazing.
and I almost bought a full coyote pelt to wear as my fursuit. ;)
I support the food chain.
it's a world full of survival, what isnt killed by us is killed by someone or something else.

Yes I do - because I'm an omnivore, and although I COULD subsist on a veggie-only diet, (with suppliments,) it would be ultimately detrimental to my health, therefore I NEED meat to live properly.
However, nobody NEEDS a fursuit made out of pelts. Especially not a furry, when there is a large range of faux furs which are just as good or better and do not come at the expense of an animal.
Your next question might be "Do you wear leather shoes or use products from animals?" My answer would be no, I do not own any leather shoes or wear any clothes with products that come from the death of an animal, and I do not use any animal products that I know of.
At the end of the day it comes down to need vs. want, and I challenge any furry to prove that they need a pelt fursuit.
I'm not out to troll OP here, just answering your question. :)

No, I didn't say that at all. I'm afraid that although I don't like it, society now depends on products like glue made from animals, and as much as it doesn't sit right with me, it will happen. I never, at any point said "STOP RIGHT THERE, WORLD! YOU'RE BEING CRUEL TO THE POOR WEE ANIMALS!"
My issue is with FURRIES using FARMED FUR to make things that are unnecessary especially when are are BETTER ALTERNATIVES.

I agree with that.
but I'll still buy from reputable dealers certain pelts. it doesnt bother me in the least. it's not that the fur is a luxury either. It's just easier to find a single pelt than to special order a large amount of long fur.
so it's a matter of convenience and using what is readily available.

bah, it's okay if you even do troll me. opinions are opinions, and while I may not agree with what you say, I do agree with your underlying logic. Animals should not be tortured or maimed for the purpose of fashion.
now, that being said. I only used ONE rabbit pelt for my entire costume, and that being said it came from a good source and not a factory farming system. The way I see it, once the life was expired the other parts were put to good use. The rabbit was well fed, happy, and relatively uncaged (except at night and during high temperatures).
but, after that being said, even if I didnt know the source of the pelt I would still judge it by it's quality and price. Usually hand-done tanning craftsmanship yields a higher quality product, and in order to get a nice sized pelt the rabbit has to be in excellent health and of a peak adult age. a miserable factory farmed pelt would be small, poorly tanned, and also ridiculously cheap.
there will always be people that raise rabbits solely for their fur no matter what we do. Our only choice is to support the good guys and do not buy from the bad.
also, I'd much rather buy from hunters than farmers. mostly because game is better regulated and it lies under my ideal of "fair game".
anyway, I dont mean to convert you, I just want you to undertand that everything isnt solely based on evil.
