I think I said before how this comic plays like an interesting twist on the movie Collateral: there it's a hitman quickly working his way through a list; here it's Savage Squirrel quickly trying to head off the hitmen based on their list.

There is a slight difference between a random person calling you, and a random person giving the name of a famous, ACTIVE Vigilante.

We don't really have anything comparable right now... closest we have is if you lived in an area where one of the few existing 'costumed heroes' operate in our world, and "they" called you. Yeah, I'd probably at least listen to their advice as well.
