This is the example Lemuel commissioned me to draw of a Sundai, which to my knowledge is when 2 races mate, and it produces a baby that isn't a half breed, or one of the parents.. but is both.
they transform (freely?) between the two racial forms. this one is half Xing, and half Lon'gutt

Correction fer shits n' giggles:
The Sundai is a shapeshifter that is able to turn into identical copies of each of its parents. When Sundai enter a breeding state, they become receptive to the genetic material of all species. Before meeting other sentient races, most Sundai held the forms of vvarious beasts native to their home planet, but now enjoy the humanoid figures of other sentient races as well. Because they generally want their offspring to have as many opportunities as they can in life, the Sundai will hold very elaborate mating festivities when they feel it is time to reproduce. To these occasions, they will invite close family and friends to preserve their forms in the next generation, as well as robust or exotic beasts to contribute as well.
It is only with very intense and specialized practice that Sundai are able to blend together their forms, as the one pictured above is (a hybridization between the Xing and the Lon'Gutt).
