Well i think this has to do something with ships. My father found this on the beach. Is this very old or new? The middle is very smooth. But i am also bot sure what this is or what it was used for. Hope i can get some help and this is the last submission for the day.

yeah looks like whats left of a rigging block used on sail ships.

Could it be possible that it might came from the ships that discovered south Africa? I hope it's an old artifact :P

new ships tend to have a different type of pulley I think. Also, if you could figure out the type of material it's made of that would give a good idea of the age.

Well i know it's not marble. What other white materials are there that i can look up?

If it's really heavy it might be a stone like limestone or just a concrete, if it's light it might be a really washed-out wood or a whale bone.

It does feel a little heavy. It also looks that some pieces were chip off. Want me to take a bigger picture to get a better look at it?

I don't think it's concrete because the middle tunnel is really so smooth in there. And i think concrete is much weaker and this thing took quite a beating. So it must be stone or is white concrete so smooth and hard?

Looks a bit like a ceramic insulator off of an old power pole.
