Alright, so it starts off like this, okay? Saturday afternoon. I’m in my bedroom, nice picture window, posters on the walls and stuff. I like heavy metal, so that’s what’s on most of them, Exodus, Nuclear Assault, what-have-you. It’s raining outside, a gray dreary day with absolutely nothing, nothing at all to do. Alright, laying on my bed, watching some television because, hell, there’s nothing to do on an absolutely apathetic and blank day like this. I’ve been lying sedentarily on my mattress with my head on a stack of pillows from my parents’ bedroom. Getting into about five hours of TV and my mind is shot to god-knows-where. All I really care about is… hell, I don’t really care about anything at this point. I have no idea how this happens, what comes next. I feel my foot fall asleep, so I start to shake it. I regain the feeling in my foot, blood flow’s come back. But my right knee starts to go completely numb, and cramp on top of that. I lay my head back away from the television and lift my knee up and give it a smack. Get this: it sounds like I smacked a plastic lunch tray. I’m like ‘what the fuck’ in my head, I mean, that’s completely natural for me to do anyways when stuff happens. Anyways, I lift it up and everything looks fine. I lean my head back and resume watching the TV. I feel myself sort of just completely melt in with the bed and pillows; you know what I mean. A couple commercial breaks later, my leg goes like, blank. That’s the only word I can use to describe it: Blank. Like, I can’t feel it at all. Not even like a ‘my leg’s asleep’ sort of feeling. Just like, it isn’t there. I lean up a bit, still apathetic as ever, and my leg looks fine. Then from just above the hem of my shorts leg, I see a slight clear something. It looks like my skin is disappearing. I mean, for fucking real. Like, I can see my muscles, tendons, ligaments, the whole nine yards. I see this clear move over my leg like water filling up a tank, or a kiddy pool. It goes all the way to my toes and I can see everything in my leg move when I shift it. It still feels blank, and I see my knee move, my toes flex, my muscles contract, the whole nine yards. Next thing I see, what looks like a plastic seam spread down the middle of my leg, all the way to my ankle, then it goes and forms a circle all the way around it. Then, a sort of odd one appears. It shows from the inside of my thigh, by the hem of my shorts, and then it makes sort of an ellipse and goes right back up the rear of my shorts. I can’t feel any of this, but I can hear creaking, and what can be described as a light blowing of bubbles across the top of a glass of water, where there isn’t enough noise to annoy, but enough to make an audible tone. That sort of noise. It’s tough to explain. Anyways, this is where it gets weird. The stuff underneath this clear layer of what is I assume thick vinyl, the muscles, bones, veins; they all begin to just compress into the outer layer of material. And, this sensation is just incredible. It feels like a cross of pressing a bruise, the compression of wires with my fingers, and getting sat on by a rather large person, and that pressure you feel when that happens. This feeling is being slowly driven down my leg towards my ankle and toes. The body parts underneath, while all this is happening is just becoming clear. As clear as the vinyl that covers my leg now. I see the thick parts like my muscles and veins slowly fade into clarity, and I swear I can see straight through my own thigh to the blanket I still was laying unflinchingly upon. The vinyl of my toes begins to slowly melt together with a mild warming sensation. Like, if your toes were wrapped in shrink wrap and someone was going over that with a heat gun, you’d know how my toes felt as the vinyl molded and melded into a single toe. Four little separate pawpads emerge with their own little vinyl seams from the ball of my foot, and the heel.
