Krata Crossing, located middle west of Geneia, seperates the rocky badlands from the desert beyond. Two large rocky mountains block any other path, so whatever traveler decides to wander in these parts have no choice to but to use this pass. Admittedly not many wander in there, being far from civilization and difficult to tread, so it often feels desolate.
However it's not fully the case. Both mountaintops are inhabited by a certain Mudkan* tribe. While not inherently agressive, they overlook the crossing and are wary of people wanting to pass. With exceptional climbing skills and tools, they scout the path unnoticed. They have been known to be picky on who they allow to pass, and while most cases they simply threaten and not let people pass, some cases have been more violent.
*Mudkans are basically Anthros of Torgua. Often also the most repressed. While nowadays you can find mudkans everywhere among society, they also still have many tribes in the wilderness that refuse to give up traditions or simply don't trust Kans (sentient ferals) and Mudiz (humans).
