Another box I made in my ceramics class... this one is a dragon I made for a classmate.
It's raku glazed like the statue I posted a few days ago.
The tail is off center because I'm lame...
The color came out cool. Enjoy.

Yea, all my boxes/statues are organic slab so they all start off as a slab of clay wrapped around newspaper.

I'm horrible at slab construction. Much better at handbuilding, haha.
I really love that glaze, too. I need to try Raku firing sometime.

Organic slab is my favorite. I love most handbuilding styles. I'm not a fan of wheel throwing which is why I love the Raku class.

No idea what the girl is going to use it for. She gave me the idea to make a dragon so I made it for her.

the tail isn't to noticeable, the coloring is cool i like how its pink on the inside, thehead to me is very welldone to one of the first things i notticed

Ironically enough I don't either, however hard that may be to believe.

Tho I have always pondered what it would be like to smoke and draw knowing how positive alcohol effects my artwork.
I was warned against it tho, as I may likely start to fly or barf gold and rainbows.

<3 My dragon would definitely approve of this. I love how you integrated the wings into the lid, and the tail is freaking adorable :3 The pose is really nicely rendered too, very sphinxlike :3

I wish I could get a picture of the one I made my teacher. It's not a box but I'm so damn proud of it(Tarsier sitting on a tree).

I might try to get her to take a picture and email it to me so I can post it.
