A character I've had knocking around in my head for a few years now!
Here's his bio:
Personal information:
Species Bat-eared fox
Gender Male
Hometown Goffstown, NH
Listed height 6 ft 7 in (2.01 m)
Listed weight 235 lb (107 kg)
Shoots Right
Education:
School Underwood College
Dhano grew up in a house by the interstate leading out of town. It was the only house within a quarter mile area, and you reached the driveway by exiting off the highway and driving up a hill parallel to it. Though Goffstown proper was close by, Dhano grew up with his parents, two siblings, and grandmother-in-law in fairly rural surroundings.
"We're like the last bastion with teeth," quipped Dhano once. "Everyone (in the area) after us has no teeth."
He began playing basketball at age two, inspired by watching the sport on television. The family had always had an interest in the sport. Dhano's uncle, in fact, coached high school basketball in nearby Manchester.
His freshman year, on advice from the same uncle and general family agreement, he moved in with his uncle and enrolled in Manchester's high school rather than going to the one serving Goffstown and nearby New Boston. He was already excelling as a shooter, averaging 11 ppg. By his senior year, under his uncle's tutelage, he'd led the school to the state championship.
He joined UDub's basketball team having averaged 14-16 ppg by this time. His freshman year, those numbers held in the time he was given. They stagnated the following year, though, for that season the coach was favoring the starting line and sixth man almost exclusively. He did, interestingly enough, declare for the draft in 2014 anyway- and was advised in no uncertain terms to go back to school and get better. "It was like wanting to run before I could walk,"" he says now. ""I just wanted to get in there."
The next 2 years were a quite different story. He bulked up (he had weighed just 209 at 6'7""), changed his mindset to be more aggressive and utilize his already-very-good court awareness, and -significantly- more than doubled his ability to shoot threes. The result was that Dhano became a legitimate threat in volume scoring at the perimeter and midrange. This past season- his final for UDub at 22- he scored 4 for 5 from three-point-range.
