You really have to feel sorry for poor Bunnie, she's the whipping post of the SatAM/Archie Sonic the Hedgehog series; she the nicest character of the lot and has the worst things happen to her. First, she was roboticized; later on, she had to replace her robotics with new cybernetics because they were poisoning her, making her unable to return to be de-roboticized; then she had to spend two years alone and depressed while her boyfriend (Antoine, whom I really don't like) was replaced with an imposter. This piece of work was inspired by all the crap she had been run through, featuring my personal take on Bunnie Rabbot:
[One evening, Dr. Eggman/Robotnik caught this poor, young rabbit skulking around his property--more specifically, the burnt out husk of his last base--searching for bit of salvage that she could sell. Displeased, he hunted her down, and after an accident with a discarded explosive; Bunnie was reduced to a charred mess. Robotnik took her remains back to his lab, and concocted a plan. He had enough of Sonic, and planned to use his catch as part of a weapon; simple robots weren't smart enough, even with a trapped animal in them, and the last AI he created turned on him; so he would use a real brain from an intelligent creature, and make sure it could not rebel. After tinkering with his lab rat, he deduced that he should leave as much organic as possible, as an all robotic body might be too inhospitable for a solitary brain; and replaced the damaged flesh (mostly on her left side) with cybernetics. When Bunnie awoke many weeks later, she was aghast at what Robotnik had done to her; she tried to enact revenge, only to discover the second reason why Robotnik left a large chunk of her body organic: a series of electrodes placed around her torso could be triggered remotely to deliver excruciating pain. Robotnik had his slave, and hopefully the weapon to destroy Sonic once and for all.]
So that's the story, and it leaves this poor rabbit wondering: Why do things like this happen to her?
This image was 100% CorelDRAW, and I learned how Powerclips work while doing it. I think for my next art, I'm going to try a black outline as a separate layer with flat shading instead of no outline and gradient shading; it'll give a more cartoony look and should take less time. Now it's just a matter of deciding what to draw next; any suggestions?
