Before anyone asks, NO I AM NOT STARTING A COMIC. >u<
This was a single page I did to start a new project revolving around Stardew Valley. I just started a new farm and I'm calling this one Ambrosia Vale, and it's Mara's turn to be the farmer. :)
I wanted to give this piece the feel of a faerie-tale story and thought the panels would be the best way to lay things out. I don't have the time or energy to keep up with something like this long-term though, as much as I'd like to, so this is a one-shot thing. (I explained my thoughts on doing a comic more deeply over on my Facebook page, if you really want to know go poke around over there.)
Anyway, the basic premise for this story is that Maraschino has gotten herself into a bit of a tangle with a jilted lover, who decided to enact a bit of revenge by means of a Sleeping Curse. A few drops of a potion slipped into her drink and out she went, and that's where she'll stay for the duration of my current Stardew Valley playthrough. She will awaken on the dawn of year 5 - no True-Love's Kiss required to break this spell, it simply must run its course. ;) It's not the epic tale I'd like to tell, but it gets the job done. It's just for fun anyway.
Meanwhile, as I play, I'm going to be running a series of sketches based on things that happen in the game. They will be fast, fun, loose doodles that I don't have to ink and color and make perfect. The style will be more cartoony, sometimes chibi sometimes not, and I'll post them here in my Scraps folder so you guys can share in the fun.
Also preemptively going to answer: No, I'm not open for anything like this in a commission. This was a huge amount of work for just one piece and I'm not really interested in mass producing this look. If I was, I'd do a comic of my own. :p
