As an exercise, I tried reversing the genders of two of my more prominent characters, the Mighty Goo and Catspaw, mainly because the archetypes they represent, the gooey "Plastic Man" type and the cat-themed hero, are typically male and female respectively. Since I HATE to slavishly follow the expected, I decided to try them as the opposite of the "expected" genders.
My son, however, still insists that the REAL Mighty Goo is a boy, and that this is simply "Goo-Girl."

It's funny you post this... During AC I was chatting with Juki and Tef and the subject came up about trying to "kill" gummi bears (no matter what you do, they ALWAYS shrink back to their original shape; they're practically indestructible!), and I instantly thought of your old "Goo" character, mentioning that'd make a neat superhero.
