Subject: Kitsune in wonderful layers of Kimono
Materia Artistica: water colours, pearlescent watercolours, coloured pencil Pigma Microns and Brush pen on bristol
References: a few Ukiyo-e prints and a doll i found. and patterns from both Kimono and screen paintings
Notes: She will be for sale in the art show at AC. she was made for an awesome matt i found in a second hand frame. it also hails back to some of the designs i used to do with a figure and pieces of patterns and sections of background. i think i will be doing more stuff like this as i forgot how nice this looks. Going through one's old art can be a wonderful exercise.

You have realy potrayed your ability to take an art style and make it your own here. This looks very much like somethign I would see on a poster in prewar Japan, not that I have been there but I have seen many movies and depictions of that era. The very simple bars that you have added are the most interestign part to me because not only does it show texture that you have done elsewhere in the piece in a somewhat deconstructed fashion, but it also balances the piece as a whole. If I had to make any criticism it would have to be that I do not like the plainness of the lantern behind teh figure. I thikn that maybe just the tiniest hint of cool color shading would really sepparate it from the white outside of the box you made for the character and pull it into a relationship with the rest of the figure.
