Oh and a proper zoot suit would have the pants right under the rib cage.
FYI there was never a suit sold as a "Zoot suit" you got a suit five sizes too big and had it tailored down. So while the waist and sleeves fit it was too long and the pants too high, the shoulders too large. Ergo the Zoot Suit look.
