Variana is a character I've had in mind for months, based on a dream I had, but it was LollyDoom who first brought her to life! I gave the best description of her I could manage, and I have to thank LollyDoom for putting up with my descriptions, my uncertainties, and occasional fiddling with details! For example I actually had two hair colors in mind: this shade of blue, and a more purple-indigo shade that was suggested by a friend of mine. In the end I could decide which to draw, and after LollyDoom drew both of them I simply told them, "Post whichever you like more." I have to say, I like their choice!

...I'll put her backstory and nature in more detail elsewhere, I ended up writing quite a bit on her and I don't want to text dump here. But in brief, she's more of a water spirit than an actual living creature, at least as I imagine her, so she can actually appear transparent at times. Though of course, that isn't how she's drawn here (and I'm actually still imagining how that would look). Also, I have no idea what kind of cat she is. I'd like to say she's a panther, but she wasn't really designed as any specific feline.
