I've had this guy in my head for a few weeks now, I had to get him out. I needed a monster; Jive is the result.
Paper textures make even the worst sketches look less shitty, and I kinda stole his back markings from the Death's Head Hawk Moth, which is my favorite moth. I hope nature doesn't sue. :[
He's monochromatic, too. May put some green on the wings or something, I don't know.
His tail eats things.

Download paper texture. I've had mine for years and can't remember where it's from. In this case, I used two, and made one slightly transparent over the other to 'blend' them. If you have textured paper, scan it in and use that if you want.
Put your sketch on a multiply layer over the texture. Use hue/saturation to make the sketch colors fit more closely with the paper's color, if your sketch is b&w.

He keeps it tied shut so no one notices its a mouth.. when he's around normal critters.
He normally controls it, but if he's asleep or someone sneaks up on him, the tail will react (violently) before the rest of him does. I could see him waking up to see his tail shaking someone like a ragdoll by the neck and going "oh, crud."
