It's true,once you'll find more about her,you'll find surprising how she really is; Personally Ranger Nightmare is one of my favorite griffins in the series,along with Kwap,Aera and the now terminated Mnear:
I wish that Mnear would have survived,she would have been a good evil leader.

She is so fierce and pretty. I love her nice sharp claws, just the way I like female creatures to have. Good for back scratches

So THIS was Ranger Nightmare. She actually was the griffon I liked the most out of the first book, even more than Kwap. The bit with her literally chasing Kwap under Harrell was priceless, especially the reason: She just wanted to preen him because those gauzy Bird-of-Paradise feathers made her curious. His Don Juan act needed to be knocked down a peg or two and she managed to heretofore impossible task of mortifying him. ^.^
