I decided to do a little photoshop/tablet practice on a Fallout 3 screenshot. I tried to make Rocky look a little more accurate to my original design. I wish he looked like this in the game without help from Photoshop.
I think it turned out well.

That's a very nice touch-up you did for him. He really does look like your original design more than when you did it strictly from Fallout 3. I just love his trademark hair, it's always been a favorite of mine for his design. Awesome work, he really came out great Rocky. = )
you did extremely well both ways rocky, and should be proud of your hard work, it looks to be really paying off, I'm a bit surprised you could add that blue to his hair, then again i'm not to familiar with in game file restrictions on that, usually hair is just extra poly surfaces that are grouped to the head, they should have their own texture file you could mess with, besides that it looks pretty dang close. remodeling the hair would be troublesome, but i think adding the earrings could be plausible...perhaps as an additional helmet item? if you took an existing helmet and modded it to simply be the earings, they would actually be equipable...but thats just me rambling on i suppose. the texture files for the skin you could easily update to look more like this right? once again I'm not familar with size restrictions for the game so...
OH did you hear? Bethesda's making a fallout MMO! perhaps a certain otter, and lombax could be meeting in the wastelands one day hahah!

I have figured out a way to add colored parts to hair that won't change color. I don't know if it'll look as nice as this but I can make it work. Earrings are also a possibility. Bethesda has an earring slot they never ended up using in the default game. They won't even take up the helmet slot. I just need to make the earrings look right.
I might be able to make him look more like this in the game if I messed with it enough. I'm sure it's possible. The hair is the biggest thing for me. If I can make it look more like this, I'd be much happier.
I'm figuring more things out about making stuff in the game and hopefully I'll be able to make this all much better than it currently is.
I didn't know Bethesda was making an MMO. Are they making it in the same engine as the normal Fallout 3? If that's the case, I can probably add the races to that too. That would be a lot of fun. It would be like Second Life or something like that only with more guns and gore!

Yup fallout MMO was being developed by a different company, but they didn't hit a deadline so bethesda dropped them like yesterdays trash and picked it up themselves. I see no reason why they wont use the same engine but heck it's bethesda they do what they want. I know for sure another new Fallout title is coming from bethesda that is not a DLC, but a completely new story arc and release, i heard it will take place in Vegas! but vegas is much more limited than DC was, besides the strip, vegas is pretty nondescript and flat. so *shrugs* we'll have to see where things go with that
Sometimes Rocky i could just hug you, you take my critiques in stride, keep looking up kid your doing a great job

Vegas, huh? That's gotta be interesting. Is it going to be a completely separate game or is it going to be another large add-on like Broken Steel?
The unfortunate part about an MMO is that mods probably won't work too well. At least as far as I know. I don't really play MMO's so I only know a little bit about them. Can people make mods for those? I'd assume it could be cheating in some aspects if it's possible to mod them.
I was wondering, Is there anything in particular you want me to add to the game? I could always give it a try.

Vegas will be a separate release from Fallout 3, though FO3 does have at least one more DLC on the way! Pretty sure modding MMO's are pretty much not done, which is odd considering modifying ones appearance doesn't really give more of an advantage than someone who doesn't, unless you know...you make your self invisible or something. Who know how Bethesda will do it, maybe they'll be okay with mods, or maybe they wont...all we can hope for is a vast customization for characters from the get go, something like City of Villains, or the upcoming Aeon has. I know what you mean, i don't play MMO's much either, i just started an account on City of Villains to study MMO Playing styles, loadtimes, and technical mumbo jumbo. I refuse to touch the WoW.
Thanks for the offer, for now keep doing what your doing and improving your mods, if i come up with something, you'll be the first guy i run to with the idea i promise

I've heard of City of Villains before. I might pick up a copy sometime. If I do, I'll let you know. Maybe we can team up!
I haven't really done much lately with the mod. Progress has been really slow. It's not that I don't want to continue, cause I really do, but the modeling takes so much time. Not to mention the fact that I happen to be a very VERY good procrastinator. I've even got a drawing sitting on my desk that has been half-finished for a couple weeks. I keep telling myself that I'll work on it when I have time. Unfortunately, whenever I have time, Everything else seems so much more convenient. There just isn't enough time in a day! It would be so much better if I didn't have to worry about sleeping.
But anyway, I'm attempting to do some work with animations now too. I'm trying to work with poses for Fallout 3. This can make screenshots much more interesting...

hahah no doubt! I'll definitely keep my look forward to playing with you on CoV. Might be best to wait for the new expansion to come out CoH: Going Rogue, apparently it'll let your character play in both games and flip flop between them, which will be nice, but there's no release date on it yet so D:
Hey what kind of file extensions are your models in, I could probably take a look at them in Maya and help you out with modeling critiques and such.
I know what you mean about the hours, this school is keeping me uber busy, but trust me even when you stay awake all the time, there still isn't enough time to do everything you want. I need to do some searching for a gift for my friends birthday gift...it isn't going to well /: I hope you can work out some sort of schedule to at least get working on things that are important to you, it can be tough organizing all the crap that gets put on our plates.

For Fallout 3, all of the model files need to be in .nif format to work. As far as modeling for clothing and body meshes, that's simple enough even if I do have issues with clothing parts clipping through eachother. The head is a different story. I've got to do all sorts of goofy stuff to it to make it work. On top of that, I've always got to realign it with the body by trying to move it around, save it, and then import it into the game multiple times until it matches up just right. Another issue is that I can't mess with the vertix count or it won't work. I really would need more vertices to properly make the ears. So far nobody has found a flawless way to make new heads for the game.
Oh, I almost forgot. For all my model work, I use a program called Blender. It's easy enough to use for the most part but I don't think I'll ever completely understand all the complicated stuff.
I'm starting to kind of get things together. I'm trying to manage my time a little better. I've even started drawing again.
If there's one thing I've learned, iTunes giftcards are a gift just about everybody loves. I dunno. When in doubt, between 20 or 50 bucks usually does the trick.

For the most part. The original version looks nice but it doesn't look as good as this. Here's what it looked like before the work: http://fallout3nexus.com/imageshare.....1246429642.jpg
It looks pretty nice by itself but it really could be better.

I'm still working on making races. I've been planning on making more but I just haven't been able to get much done. I think it's safe to assume you were going to ask about a dragon race? I was considering making something like that. It would be challenging but definitely not impossible.
No, no. It's nothing really. I was thinking about making a dragon type race anyway. You weren't being too pushy at all. Sorry if I made it seem that way.
But anyway, I've just come up with an idea. I'm going to try to convert Fallout 3 into a furry world. I've got to make a bunch of furry races first though. It's really not too hard more than it is just a slow and cumbersome process but I think I can make it work.

I already have this one and a wolf race. I was going to add cat, bear, mouse, and even a dragon race. (by request) I think that's enough to start with. I could even make some more races that branch off of those by making retextured versions too.
I could make earrings that work but that would require making versions for each race since all of them have such varied ears. I suppose that wouldn't be such a bad idea though.

Well, there are those worker aliens that don't attack you, and you get bad karma for killing them :(
Never thought of having one as a sidekick before though... but I was wishing during the beginning their probing would go a little farther down than my head .-.;
How far are you? :o

I've managed to get through the whole MZ quest by now. As far as the main game, I'm up to the point where I've just gotten Dad to the Jefferson Memorial. I've been at that point for quite some time now. It's funny because the way I play games like these seems to reflect my personality. I've got a bunch of side quests in progress and I'm out looking for new locations instead. I'm always completely scatterbrained.
