Here's an original species that I've been working on on and off for awhile: the Ottermander!

As the name suggests, the design is inspired by features of an otter and a salamander. Ottermanders are semi-aquatic mammals that are commonly found in bodies of water such as rivers, streams, marshes, and lakes. They are mainly carnivorous and prey on fish, shellfish, amphibians, small reptiles, and insects. The pic above is an example of what an ottermander can look like, but overall there are a wide variety of individual traits: some may have muddy or earthy colors while some may be bright and flashy in dozens of hues. Ottermanders also have a wide variety of fin and whisker shapes too, so no two are exactly alike in appearance. Overall, most ottermanders are wary of strangers at first, but curiosity gets the better of them and, once trust builds over time, their energetic and fun personalities shine through!
