[Custom Commissions are now CLOSED]
[Read if you're planning on commissioning in the future, lots of information!!]
[General Update Post with future JayeCreations Plans - including plans for dragon head making]
We would love to start out by saying WOW! We cannot believe the amount of recent support and interest in our scalemail! Even to those who don't monetarily support us, all the sharing and comments are so deeply appreciated! We were not expecting to have to close right before packing up for college move-in date! We rocketed from around 4-5 commissions to over 20! So for those thinking, oh no! No more commissions ever?! No, we just were suddenly swamped and don't like taking more that will take more than 5 months to complete. So we thank you all so much!! Below is kind of an update and announcements, thanks for reading!
-Our simple custom etsy listings will stay up until sold out; those are only for one scale and one yarn color. You will be placed at the end of our queue.
-Those who have invoices already sent to them or have been in regular contact with us - your 50% down payment will be due August 26th by Midnight, Eastern Standard Time. Those who do not qualify will have their invoices cancelled.
-Those are in this batch, Congratulations! You guys have one of the most diverse and largest batch we've ever taken on! We are going to try VERY hard to have everyone's done by January 1st, 2018. But as stated in the TOS, this stuff can take up to 5 months to get to, but hopefully our college workload isn't too time consuming. If we know we are going to take longer, we will contact you!
-Currently, we have full intentions of going to Midwest FurFest in Illinois in December! Current Buyers, if you are attending, please let us know and we could possibily do a pick up option! For others interested in our makes, we are going to try very hard to get into Artist Alley with the intentions of getting commissions. We will have some inventory items with us but not much. If we get a table there, we will be sure to announce it!
-Prices Increasing: So by the time 2018 rolls around, we will have been knitting scalemail for two years and have generally kept our pricing the same. We have been crunching the numbers and if we plan on continuing the business, we will be increasing our prices. However, we are not going to have them through the roof. We believe that even though these take some time, they are still costumewear that isn't quite perfect. So, expect a price increase, but nothing extremely dramatic. For thoes we have quoted in the past, once we announce the new pricing, we will be more than welcome to requote you. In addition, we are planning on having a new quoting system to make it easier on everyone!
-What's in store for the future?! Will you be making another dragon head?! Will you open for dragon head commissions?! So here's what's up everyone: Galahad was an experiment. Our primary maker, Jaye, has wanted to make a head for years but was waiting for skills to get better to not waste materials. He was a huge challenge and is not the most comfortable to wear. SO! Right now, IF we were to make another dragon, it would be an artist designed one that would go up for auction. We have to make something user friendly! If something happens to Galahad, he's not far away from our work area for a repair. We aren't very comfortable yet letting someone have a piece of our work that isn't going to last a while.
-On top of the making challenges a dragon head presents, we only have the work area to make a head in the summer. There is a huge possiblity that Jaye will have important internship next summer which would put her in another state, far away from home. If that happens, all commission work will most likely hault. As of right now, once April of 2018 rolls around, we have absolutely no clue what the plan is! We would like to continue making stuff but our priority is a career in our educational field.
That's about it for now! We have some amazing designs that our buyers have put together which we are honored in being chosen to make for them! The three of us here at JayeCreations are all very grateful for supporting our business. We never thought two years ago that we would meet so many creative people and have the opportunity to be working on something we love! All the stress it can cause is so worth it when we're told everything shipped and arrived safely!
If you guys ever have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to comment them below or private message us!
We can't thank you guys enough! Stay tuned for more jinglies in the near future!
