Though I think even if they did, it would perhaps be a thankless task because there's just so many Pokémon that people would complain about not being figures. Don't know why they let others make merchandise of the characters, though- could just be stylistic choices, idk.

Oh I'm not talking specifically about Pokemon, I'm referring to Nintendo characters in general, they're one of the few game companies to actually have recognizeable characters anymore, the few that do are mostly indies. Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing, Splatoon, ARMS, Punch Out, etc. Those would fly off the shelves.
