Growing up, Alex was always the “man of the house,” taking care of things and helping his mother whenever necessary.
His father left when he was six years old, and when another man came in and ultimately left his mother in a similar fashion, it sent her spiraling into a depression she still struggles with.
Alex always felt genuinely grateful to her and loves her dearly, so he takes charge whenever she feels she can’t.
In his senior year of high school, he finally came to terms with being gay after falling in love with his best friend Owen.
Owen, however, saw Alex as disgusting and said he “never wanted to see him again,” which left Alex with a gripping fear of commitment and opening up.
Since moving out and living on his own, Alex has learned to love himself and move past his fears, no longer living his life in secret.
These days he enjoys spending his free time at coffee shops and with his best friend Erin.
