VAE VICTIS! - Beastmen bound and under arrest
a doodle I made bedween two requests to get my head and mind ready for the new pic to come.
Beastfolk very often get the short end of the rope, if it it comes to a meeting with ... furless critters...

Well, slavery existed in Tamriel since the first era. In Morrowind, Khajiit and Argonians are slaves kept by the Dunmer (most notably House Telvanni and House Dres). Morrowind takes place during the third era. The Elder Scrolls Online takes place during the second era, though it was during the Ebonheart Pact where the Dunmer houses were forced to release all Argonian slaves under the rules of the pact. Though House Telvanni refused to join the pact and kept their slaves.
(There's actually a Telvanni slave camp in-game in Black Marsh with several Argonians with their wrists tied behind them, and they do struggle a fair bit. And in the main Telvanni city of Sadrith Mora, you can see Khajiit and Argonians in wooden cages.)
It wasn't until near the end of the third era that slavery in Tamriel was abolished. Though despite that, the Argonians still got their revenge by attacking Morrowind after the eruption of Red Mountain (which crippled the Dunmer). The Argonians sacked the southern half of Morrowind and took control of everything south of the city of Morrowind.
Hopefully that wasn't too much information, my dear Eternal. I know a lot about Elder Scrolls. Especially when it pertains to the Argonians. X3

ah thanks a lot for the interesting infos on this topic. As I said, I only know fragments about this, like that there had been this eruption of red mountain and that this destroyed the Dunmer country. And there was this book in Skyrim that summarized the basic background story, but I had no idea that the Argonians reconquered parts of Morrowind.
I played it for a short while on X-Box, but the gameplay was too difficult for me, maybe because I was a newbe then and the translated dialogues from english into german were also not good. The level of difficulty was too high for me so even a simple rat was able to kill me, hehe^^
I'll send the screenshots to you and Eternal via notes so I don't flood the comments sections with links. XP
Even though the legs aren't bound and one of them is actually a bound spirit (in more ways than one), I did find it interesting how many times I ran into a bound Argonian. More than I was ever expecting! XD

it sounded interesting at first, then i googled it and it looked as though the main character is another human *sighs* so i think i'll give it a pass
though i guess i shouldn't be surprised. its quite rare for a manga, anime or a japanese video game to have a non-human in the lead... and no, i am not counting people with cat tails or ears or human-lik faces as non-human XD

Given that in this case it would appear these unfortunate beastfolk have been captured by Roman legionaries I imagine their future will be particularly bleak, probably manual labour at best or sexual slavery or as fodder for gladiatorial games other likely fates if they don't just decide to murder them out of hand possibly after torture.
It does seem in general the furry or scaly races suffer at human hands, though orcs do seem to suffer a lot as well when they're portrayed more sympathetically these days. Not just the humans as well, since in some cases elves can be just as bad if not worse in this regard, though in some cases they'd probably include humans in with the beastfolk such as for example the Aldmer/Thalmor in Skyrim or drow from Dungeons and Dragons.

being forced to fight as gladiators could be a more mercyful fate then if the would be send a s slaves to miners work for such slaves suffered the most and were short lived...
yes, it´s been a long way since the old strict cast system was left behind, where it says that elves, dwarves and most humans are good, Orcs, kobolds and beastfolk are evil... it is like a mirror of our current times, you don´t know any longer whom to trust and almost every folk has good and evil individuals. The only question is: Which side is in charge of the government? Good or evil?

Their fates look bleak, the horse would probably forced on the fields, the lizard a gladiator, and the boar....I don't even know. Alas this is common when it comes to humans and beastfolk, only in some instances it is reversed. However the hubris of humanity knows no bounds, unlike our unfortunate friends here, who will become most accustomed to "Bounds"
as long as the lizard wins his fights, he probably has the best fate among those three, cause gladiators had a good life, enough to eat, a good medical care, massages and visits at the baths, women.
Gladiators were some kind of superstars back those times
as for working on the field, it is a hard life, but it can be handled

Yep getting captured with your friends is a much better option than getting captured by yourself...a lot least scarier and your chances on escaping your bonds is way higher when you are with your buddies.
And awesome I was wondering you drew this with just a pen...very nice, you are such a talented artist^^

thanks much big partner *bows deeply*^^
since the days of drawing castle of laughter I found out about a simple trick in sketching where I hardly have to use an eraser any longer... I simply don´t care for how the result may come out. And with this state of mind, my sketches and pen doodles turn out to be well done at the end. No forcing out of my skills and no stress about the result. I just let it happen^^
and you are right. Being captured along with buddies is way better then all alone... if only their captors do no seperate them, lock them up in different cells or bind them to seperate trees^^

Oh yes chances of escaping only happens if the captors tie up the prisoners back to back or hogtying them close to each other but....hehe I do enjoy those scenarios of escaping with a friend always so funny to be completely honest, love seeing to bound roped up cowboys trying to work together to get themselves free from their ropes^^
And wow that really good if you can simply sketch out with a pen right away and the pic comes out looking like this drawing here....very impressive wish I can just draw like that but it takes too long for me to draw a simple picture like a dog or a cat.....but oh wells I'll stick with my stories^^

the art of words is as valuable as the art of drawing. Judging by your stories you have posted so far I can clearly see that you have lots of potential and you know how to write so that even folks with no native english mother tongue like me can easily follow your stories and that is very cool.
I remember that we had to read some english written books in school for to train our skills in reading and understanding of english texts. And I can tell you that those novellists sometimes have more then strange ways to use english. non english speaking people often had problems to understand the texts at all and what they should mean to begin with^^;

Aww thanks partner I really need to get back into writing more often its been too long since I sat down and wrote a story. And having this big story "Rope" thats been stuck in my head has been mentally draining. Every day that goes by I feel unaccomplished manly focusing on one thing and that is to finally tell my story. The origins of Rick the Wolf so to speak, where he came from and what story he holds inside. What he mostly desires most in life and why he gets tied up so often^^ I will say Rick will have a family of his own in the story but that is all that i will share with you, by not giving too much detail a way. :)
I will say I can understand you fully in this buddy. Reading something thats not in your native tongue is very difficult. Its like trying to read for the first time or something of the sort. I will say back in my early school years I don't recall having to read anything in class that wasn't already in english. But I do remember in Foreign Language class in middle school we had to read in Spanish, French and German....cuz for whatever reason those where the only three languages that we could take back in school. Once college rolled around you had the option to take as many foreign language classes as you want and study multiple languages, but of course you had to pay for those classes which I didn't bother cuz with my degree I didn't need to take another foreign language cuz i completed those credits back in high school.
But I will say reading, speaking or writing German is something I cannot really do....I can only say a few words in German but thats about it. I think it would be rather cool to learn another language but I'm just not quite there yet :)

I think I know why german is still of some iportance in schools all over the world. In history Germany was a leading country in development during the period of the industrial revolution next to the british empire. Many trades of technology and machinery was done with german merchants and so they need to speak german and the other way round the germans had to learn english, for the british empire was the leading country in these years.
Today german is a must do subject even in schools in Japan^^
I had to start to learn english with 7 years in the second grade of elementary school and I did so until I became 18 years old. I studied roman Latin for four years in Gymnasium.
And I even know some basic quotes and phrases in japanese lenguage^^
lenguage can be connecting but far too often it is simply a barrier, even for folks who speak the same lenguage^^;
