Sort of. When the person asked if this was about a relationship, I told them a story:
When I once admitted to liking a TV show, I was told it wasn't cool; in fact, the show was stupid, and I was stupid for liking it.
I created a fake personality that dealt with more and more people I knew after that. It remained aloof and didn't think anything was really all that interesting or worthwhile, and tried to make people who were sure that they liked something defend it so that their support could be picked apart.
The one good thing that the furry fandom has done for me is make this personality fade away...but it's still there.
