My babies! For the past few months I've been on a major 1930's cartoon 'rhythm days' cartoons. (Specifically the Fleischer cartoons like the old Betty Boop and Bimbo cartoons) and started doodling up some of my own little band of sinners (Swing you Sinners!) with a nice little mix of the popular cartoons for the time with a certain little inky dancing devil. (Damn you Bendy, you started this kick)

So here they are. Inkgoo Studios presents: Gunny O'Possum and the Swingin' Sinners!

Gunny O'Possum: The 'leader' of the gang, a rascally little punk who spends his days exploring the Inktown alleyways looking for some fun and kicks between the garbage bins and the 'street leakers' (drug users, including himself on occasion. There's not much else to do on the streets, truth be told.) Often stealing things he needs and hiding them in his pouch. To his advantage, he can turn his tail into almost anything, helping him practically stay alive on the streets. Sometimes he finds work on the docks taking out crates and tossing out the sailor's garbage for them (he doesn't mind, he lives in it anyways). His favorite activity is using his tail to paint on the walls of the alleys.

Merry Maroon: A maine coone and scottish fold mix. The big, busty sweetheart of Gunny, who he affectionately calls his 'best girl'. She loves spending her days walking the city and exploring the urban (ink) decay with her 'naughty goofo'. When not exploring with the marsupial, she does little odd jobs around the city, often providing for her boyfriend and helping him avoid jerks in the street like Alley Gator, Borris E. Boar, and that "no good, good for nothin' hound dog Nonim". Just because this dame is quite the dish, doesn't mean she won't dish out a good fist or two if anyone decides to attack her or her boyfriend. She loves her little Gunny, but they have to keep it quite the secret (being a 'Sinner' in Inktown is highly illegal, and what's more sinful than a boy-possum with a pouch and a squeak in his voice?) Her favorite activity is walking in the city park, loving the joys of seeing the nature, spending time with her boyfriend, and even the nice attention she gets when she's walking alone. (Just don't let Gunny know she intentionally walks over all those air vents...)

Charlie Axealotl: Quite the character, Charlie is a mix between a seal and an axolotl. He prefers bouncing around on his large tail than walking. He lives a pretty normal life in an apartment complex, and only knows Gunny because he spends the majority of his time in the alley of his apartment building. He can get pretty anxious, but if you know him well enough, you'll see his playful, bouncy personality. He is considered a sinner, but tends to hid it in order to fit in, unlike Gunny, who likes the drama and danger of strutting his sinning stuff. Charlie had a boyfriend at one point, but he ended up almost calling the cops on him to get him arrested. His favorite activity is swimming in the lakes and beaches of the city and sometimes getting into mischief with Gunny (though sometimes it gets a bit much, there have been plenty of times of him lashing out at the trouble maker...)

CryBaby Teddy: A lovely little pullstring dolly brought to life. If you pull his string, he proudly squeaks his name "Hello, I'm Crybaby!". Pull it again and he makes an adorable little sob, how cute! Though watch out when he swings at you to get you to stop, he can have quite the temper in that little body. He spends most of his time hanging out (against his will) with Nonim getting into all sorts of trouble being the others little punching bag for all his pranks and jokes. He only knows Gunny from the times that Nonim dragging him along on treks to annoy the sinner. His favorite activity is just doing whatever as long as he's away from Nonim.

Nonim Hellhound: Cousin of Charlie. Name a play on the phrase 'No name'. Not entirely a friend, more like a fiend, but hangs out enough with the three to be considered one by outsiders looking in. He loves spending his time annoying Gunny and his friends by tormenting them on their terrible 'life choices' (even though 1. Gunny and Charlie were born that way, and 2. Merry is only really a sinner by association with Gunny). His favorite activity is picking on the alley-dwellers that his cousin hangs out with and playing pranks on his 'little creation', CryBaby, whom he brought to life one day when he was bored and saw the lifeless doll on a store shelf.

(For clarification, the actions of the characters and the town they live in are based entirely on the time period and culture from when these cartoons were popular. Being gay, trans, or any part of the lgbt+ community was highly illegal and punishable by prison or sometimes by death according to some people. The term 'sinner' in their world is akin to 'f*g' or other slurs. Some are ashamed to be called it, others choose to embrace it.)

Gunny is essentially a fursona of mine, him being trans as well and the aggressive, garbage loving mischief lover I am, along with Merry being based on my real life best girl  MistyCantDraw. The other three I just doodled randomly (ironically I made Gunny and Merry last, Charlie was first).
